Wednesday Housecast #2 - 29/08/2012

It's been a couple of weeks since I've done any mixing, although i've completely re-routed my controller and keyboard (which i'll release a little later) meaning i've got more access to things like filters, effects and better beat jumping which is pretty cool.

Anyway, this mix took a stupid amount of takes to do, partly because of rust and because i have the attention span of a goldfish and missed all my cues. Levels on the whole were pretty good, although it was excessively loud for the first 15 minutes so just a word of warning there. Aside from that little hiccup, the levels worked out pretty well, especially during transitions. Hopefully that'll free up time to get effects and things in for the future (and not missing cues 100s of times)

Wednesday Housecast #1 - 8/8/2012

Alrighty, finally I've got a stable format, uploading host and a name for the show (!) so hopefully things will run reasonably smoothly from here on out. :)

My main focus this week was on output levels and getting away from the 2 tracks = double output mistake and I think that was achieved reasonably well. Sticking to the whole don't add levels unless you take something away rule was basically all I did to achieve that and nothing stuck out to me during the set so I think that might be okay now. Still have a lot of work to do with my transitions, things were particularly rough this week. Regardless, it was a pretty decent take and overall I'm happy with the set.

Tiny tower is toxic. The amount of retakes I've had to do because I missed cues while re-stocking floors...
